What makes a town a"shithole"?

It's a term that's bandied about too often, in my opinion.
I mean... what do you want/need from a town?
Anywhere with a big supermarket, a chip shop and a couple of decent pubs is ALRIGHT.
There are not many places that are proper shitholes.
HINCKLEY is a shithole.
It's got some pubs, but they're all horrible and full of cunts, so that makes Hinckley a shithole.
I am in Cowdenbeath at the moment.
There's a Morrison's, a chippy, a takeaway Indian and 4 old school little pubs that sell HEAVY.
I like Cowdenbeath.
Cowdenbeath is GOOD.

A few years back, I walked into a boozer to watch us play City. One of those ones where people put down their pints and stare at you. The bloke behind the ramp made sure I didn’t work for SKY before serving me. I only stayed for one half (of football).
